The company comes from Vancouver, Canada and the founder Darcey Diehl created Lippy Girl to make more organic, vegan and eco-friendly makeup available.

Vegocentric Organic Lipstick

I tested out the lipstick in the shade Ski Bunny, which is a pretty nude. It is not too pink or too orange so works well with a lot of different looks.

The ingredients:

Castor seed oil, jojoba seed oil, mica, carnauba wax, candelilla wax, shea butter, orange peel oil, tocopherol, and may contain: ozokerite, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, pigment violet, tin oxide, calcium aluminium borosilicate, and silica.

Application

The texture is really soft and glides on really easily, however when you apply it, it does cling to any dry areas of skin on your lips so you have to make sure to exfoliate and condition your lips before applying.

This potentially could just be a factor with this shade as it is one of the lighter shades and it might be less noticable with a darker shade such as Goddess or Boss Lady (for clarifcation those are names of the other shades).

Ski Bunny

As I have said, Ski Bunny is a really nice nude. My skin tone is very pale but I find it looks okay. It appears more of a pink shade on the lips than when swatched where it looks more of a light coral. Also, the shade really changes on whether it looks more nude or coral based on the lighting.

There are twelve shades to choose from in this range so I would think there is one to suit many different skin tones.

The colour didn’t last especially long but it doesn’t claim to be a long lasting lipstick. I had to reapply a few times throughout the day but the lipstick has a few moisturising ingredients so I didn’t mind too much.

Packaging

The packaging is really nice. It comes inside a small box which is recyclable. The actual tube the lipstick is in is a sleek black metal with the pink Lippy Girl logo on the front, lower half. The shade is on the bottom of the tube and the bottom of the box as well.

Summary

This is a really nice lipstick, the packaging is pretty, the formulation is natural, organic and moisturising. There are lots of shades to choose from and lots of other lip products that look amazing – I would love to try them, especially to see how they work with the lipstick.

The lipstick is listed on lippygirl.com as $23.00 and it is also available on UK websites lovelula.com and mypure.co.uk for £12.50. I think this is a reasonable price for a product that is packed full of natural, organic, vegan friendly ingredients, and it feels high quality.

I also really like Lippy Girl’s ethos, which is to provide animal friendly, cruelty free and high quality ingredients!
